MVNO Networks Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee partnerships with host mobile network operators to facilitate Airalo's local network operations.

• Take charge of each new market from the initial discussions with operators to the commercial negotiations, regulatory approvals, technical integration, and the commercial launch.

• Maintain commercial ownership of markets that have been launched.

• Collaborate with the Finance team to create business cases for the market and present them to leadership and executives of host operators.

• Negotiate contracts for MVNO, wholesale, and reseller agreements.

• Assist the Legal team with obtaining regulatory approvals, entity and licensing matters, numbering allocation, and number portability.

• Work alongside the Delivery team on mobile number portability, lawful interception, and obligations for emergency calling.

• Oversee the technical integration of host networks with Airalo’s OSS and BSS platform in collaboration with product, engineering, and core network teams.

• Prepare and execute new market rollouts, ensuring readiness for launch and the initial commercial traffic.

• Transition launched markets to the NOC and operations teams.

• Conduct service management reviews that address network quality, SLA compliance, and incident performance.

• Address issues related to network quality and availability.

• Define processes for reconciling operator invoices with Airalo's usage records.

• Analyze market traffic, revenue, and costs, and report performance in relation to the business case.

• Renegotiate commercial terms in response to changing volumes and market conditions.

• Create and sustain a repeatable market-entry playbook along with unified commercial conditions and agreements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the mobile telecommunications industry in a commercial, wholesale, or business development capacity.

• Demonstrated experience in personally negotiating and finalizing at least two wholesale or MVNO agreements with host mobile network operators.

• Proven capability to construct market business cases, encompassing subscriber lifecycle assumptions, traffic forecasting, wholesale cost modeling, margins, and payback periods.

• Established track record of presenting and defending business cases to leadership teams and executives of host operators.

• Experience in managing commercial performance post-launch, including renegotiating contracts as volumes increase.

• Familiarity with full MVNO and light MVNO architectures, including core components, HSS/HLR, IMSI ranges, numbering, and interconnect.

• Solid understanding of telecommunications network technologies, including Mobile Core, OSS & BSS, and eSIM provisioning.

• Knowledge of 2G, 3G/UMTS, 4G/LTE, 5G NSA, and 5G SA technologies.

• Ability to lead technical scoping and service management discussions with host operators.

• Understanding of mobile service regulatory requirements, including numbering, portability, emergency calling, and lawful interception.

• Familiarity with KYC processes for mobile subscriptions.

• Experience in a fast-paced startup, scale-up, or challenger MVNO environment.

• Capability to manage multiple markets at various stages simultaneously.

• Excellent proficiency in business-level English in writing, speaking, and reading.

• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.

• Additional experience with MVNO, MVNA, or MVNE is highly desirable.

• Advanced studies or an MBA is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in additional languages alongside English is a plus.
