Music Publisher – On-Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Create and oversee sheet music assets for the Church in all sanctioned languages utilizing Dorico.

• Transition files from Finale to Dorico while developing the Hymns for Home and Church collection in various languages.

• Grasp and navigate the intricacies of the Church music publishing process.

• Adhere to established procedures for the multi-channel publication of music content.

• Operate within multi-tiered approval frameworks to uphold music quality standards.

• Collaborate with the publishing team to fulfill client expectations, delivering high-quality, timely, and enduring products.

⛳️ Requirements

• B.S., B.A., or B.M. degree in music, music education, music production, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrated experience in music engraving through a professional portfolio.

• Proficient in music notation software (Dorico preferred).

• Basic knowledge of MusicXML markup language and principles of music engraving.

• Familiarity with the Adobe suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat) is desirable but not mandatory.

• Intermediate music performance skills, including organizing productions, leading groups, and professional performance (keyboard, vocal, instrumental) are highly advantageous.

• Basic understanding of publishing music in foreign languages and their connection to rhythm and meter.

• Competence in effectively using the Microsoft suite.

• Knowledge of database software and organizational practices.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English.

• Willingness to work collaboratively in a highly team-oriented environment while also functioning independently.

• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.

• Submit 1–2 samples demonstrating professional music engraving work.
