• Discover, cultivate, and share compelling stories that resonate with the people of Halifax and influence their everyday experiences.

• Craft both short- and long-form articles.

• Deliver unique and thought-provoking journalism across digital, print, and emerging social media channels.

• Play a role in digital initiatives such as newsletters, engaging reader experiences, Q&As, videos, and new social media trends.

• Grow a social media presence through original storytelling.

• Collaborate effectively within the newsroom.

• A degree in journalism or considerable experience in digital storytelling.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

• A keen interest in civic and political journalism.

• A knack for explanatory journalism.

• A meticulous eye for accuracy and a commitment to excellence.

• Capability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and competitive newsroom setting.

• A curious mindset and readiness to pose challenging questions.
