Multimedia Journalist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Identify, cultivate, and narrate stories that resonate with the Halifax community and impact their daily experiences.

• Create both short and long-form articles focused on Halifax.

• Engage in journalism across various platforms including digital, print, and emerging social media.

• Contribute to digital initiatives such as newsletters, reader interactions, Q&As, videos, and new social media trends.

• Grow a social media presence by sharing unique and compelling stories.

• Collaborate effectively within the newsroom environment.

• A degree in journalism or substantial experience in digital storytelling.

• A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

• A strong passion for storytelling.

• A keen interest in civic and political journalism.

• Proficiency in explanatory journalism.

• Commitment to accuracy and excellence in journalistic practices.

• Ability to work as part of a team and adjust to a dynamic, competitive atmosphere.
