This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the daily loan origination operations of a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators.
• Ensure that all necessary processing, underwriting, and closing documents are obtained promptly from the right sources.
• Achieve the annual loan volume origination targets set by senior management.
• Build and maintain referral-source relationships with real estate brokers, builders, and other external partners.
• Engage actively in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations.
• Keep a comprehensive understanding of mortgage industry developments and challenges.
• Foster collaborative relationships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other divisions of U.S. Bank.
• Encourage customer relationship expansion and promote additional product sales.
• Conduct interviews and recruit new team members.
• Support employee retention through professional development and positive engagement strategies.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in mortgage sales.
• National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration as mandated by the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.
• Completion of the required NMLS registration process, including criminal background checks and credit assessments.
• Proven skills in new business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage products/services, operational processes, and current market trends.
• Basic familiarity with pricing and underwriting criteria from various mortgage insurance providers.
• Solid understanding of underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Awareness of local, state, and national regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements.
• Well-honed customer service and relationship management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to analyze financial data.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Capability to meet applicable requirements for performing duties outside of the regular workplace.
• Ability to adhere to U.S. Bank policies, the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, and workplace conduct and safety regulations.
