This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the daily loan origination processes for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators.
• Ensure the timely acquisition of documents necessary for processing, underwriting, and closing.
• Achieve annual loan origination volume targets set by senior management.
• Develop relationships with referral sources, including real estate brokers, builders, and other external entities.
• Engage in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current mortgage industry issues and events.
• Foster collaborative partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and across other business lines to enhance customer relationships and drive additional product sales.
• Conduct interviews and recruit new team members.
• Promote employee retention through development initiatives and positive engagement strategies.
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in mortgage sales.
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.
• Completion of the NMLS registration process, which includes criminal background and credit checks.
• Proven skills in business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and prevailing market trends.
• Basic understanding of pricing and underwriting standards of various mortgage insurance companies.
• Familiarity with underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Awareness of local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements.
• Well-honed customer service and relational skills.
• Keen attention to detail and capability to analyze financial data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to meet necessary requirements for performing duties outside of the usual workplace.
• Ability to adhere to U.S. Bank's policies, procedures, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, as well as workplace safety standards.
