This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee daily loan origination operations for a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators.
• Ensure that all necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing are obtained promptly.
• Achieve annual loan volume origination targets set by senior management.
• Build referral-source relationships with real estate brokers, builders, and other external entities.
• Engage in local and state mortgage banking, realtor, and builder trade associations.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage industry and current issues affecting it.
• Foster collaborative partnerships within U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other business lines at U.S. Bank.
• Encourage customer relationship development and additional product sales.
• Conduct interviews and recruit new talent for the team.
• Actively retain employees through development initiatives and positive engagement strategies.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in mortgage sales.
• Proven skills in new business development and relationship management.
• Strong understanding of sales techniques and strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of mortgage products/services, operations, and current market trends.
• Basic understanding of pricing and underwriting requirements for various mortgage insurance providers.
• Familiarity with underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors.
• Awareness of local, state, and national regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the capability to analyze financial data.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Capability to meet applicable requirements for performing duties outside the standard workplace.
• NMLS registration is mandatory under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.
• The registration process must include criminal background and credit checks.
• Adherence to U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics, Business Conduct, and workplace conduct and safety regulations, is essential.
