This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Generate mortgage loans within a designated Non-Bank territory
• Process loan applications
• Perform initial underwriting assessments
• Forward loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval
• Ensure timely collection of necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing from the relevant sources
• Engage in and promote loan sales
• Participate in sales-related activities outside of U.S. Bank locations
• Allocate at least 50% of work time on activities conducted away from U.S. Bank locations
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, along with ongoing adherence to all legal and regulatory registration obligations
• Maintain a satisfactory criminal and credit history
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate
• Self-motivated individual with strong sales skills and the ability to work independently
• Preferred established referral network within the assigned market
• Comprehensive knowledge of pricing and underwriting standards of various mortgage insurance companies
• Understanding of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors
• Awareness of local, state, and national regulations (e.g., zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements)
• Exceptional communication skills and the capability to analyze financial information
• Sales-focused
• Over 2 years of demonstrable success in mortgage loan origination, consistently achieving or surpassing production targets
• Ability to adhere to U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, as well as workplace conduct and safety regulations
