Mortgage Loan Originator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Initiate mortgage loans within a designated Non-Bank territory

• Process mortgage loan applications

• Perform preliminary underwriting assessments

• Forward loan applications to processing and underwriting teams for approval

• Follow up to obtain necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing

• Promote loan sales and engage in sales-related activities outside U.S. Bank locations

• Allocate at least 50% of work hours to activities conducted away from U.S. Bank locations

• Achieve or surpass mortgage loan origination production targets

⛳️ Requirements

• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z

• Continuous compliance with all legal and regulatory registration obligations, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit history

• High school diploma or equivalent

• A minimum of two years of experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate

• Preference for candidates with an established referral network within the assigned market

• Over two years of demonstrated success in mortgage loan origination, consistently achieving or exceeding production targets

• Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting criteria for various mortgage insurance providers

• Knowledge of underwriting standards for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors

• Awareness of local, state, and national regulations, including zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, and energy audit requirements

• Strong sales skills and the capacity to work independently

• Exceptional communication abilities
