This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Originate mortgage loans within a designated Non-Bank territory.
• Process mortgage loan applications.
• Perform initial underwriting evaluations.
• Submit loan applications for processing and underwriting approvals.
• Follow up to obtain necessary documents for processing, underwriting, and closing in a timely manner.
• Actively seek loan sales and engage in sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
• Allocate at least 50% of work hours to activities outside of U.S. Bank locations.
• Cultivate referral relationships and consistently achieve or surpass mortgage production targets.
• Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z.
• Continuous adherence to all legal and regulatory registration obligations, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit history.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience in Mortgage, Sales, or Real Estate.
• Self-motivated individual with strong sales skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Preferred established referral network within the assigned market.
• Comprehensive understanding of pricing and underwriting standards of various mortgage insurance providers.
• Familiarity with underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding initiatives, and private investors.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., zoning laws, Truth-in-Lending, RESPA, energy audit stipulations).
• Exceptional communication skills and proficiency in analyzing financial data.
• Sales-driven mindset.
• Over 2 years of successful experience in mortgage loan origination, consistently meeting or exceeding production objectives.
• Capability to adhere to U.S. Bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, as well as workplace conduct and safety guidelines.
