This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Establish referral connections with realtors, builders, and both professional and personal contacts.
• Stay informed about mortgage policies, procedures, loan products, processing methods, underwriting standards, and departmental protocols.
• Adhere to established guidelines for escalated exceptions.
• Obtain applicant applications by filling out the Fannie Mae form 1003 using a laptop.
• Utilize the laptop for communication, accessing daily rates, reviewing applicant credit reports, receiving Loan Prospector responses, and sending loans to LOMAS.
• Gather necessary documentation and ensure loan packages are delivered within time frames set by management.
• Oversee the pipeline for originated loans through to closing and complete all required management reports.
• Provide timely updates and progress reports to branches and applicants.
• Uphold excellent customer service while managing the expectations of applicants and support staff.
• Attend and engage in Consumer Lending meetings as necessary.
• Originate residential first mortgage loans for external referrals and take responsibility from application to closing.
• Achieve mortgage loan sales and cross-selling targets set by management.
• Identify, evaluate, manage, monitor, and report risks within the Bank’s risk tolerance.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A four-year college degree is preferred.
• Familiarity with conventional and/or government lending regulations.
• Understanding of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing practices.
• Knowledge of federal lending laws that regulate real estate lending.
• Proven organizational abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated teamwork and customer service capabilities.
• Established computer proficiency.
• Basic sales technique knowledge.
• A strong motivation to succeed in a competitive setting.
• Registration under the S.A.F.E. Act is required at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
