Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Foster professional, high-quality service and member relations for individuals pursuing mortgage loans.

• Cultivate business opportunities from both external and internal sources.

• Deliver outstanding service and support throughout the mortgage application journey.

• Assess and address member loan needs in alignment with their financial circumstances.

• Initiate conventional, custom construction, government, and occasional home equity mortgage loans through to completion.

• Oversee loans in progress and collaborate with members to gather and finalize necessary documents.

• Supervise applications during processing and ensure accountability until loan completion.

• Provide necessary disclosures and finalize applications while managing compliance issues prior to processing.

• Engage with branches, realtors, builders, and other referral sources to cultivate relationships and create referral channels in accordance with RESPA Section 8.

• Address branch referrals via CRM within one business day and involve the Director of Mortgage Sales as necessary.

• Participate in community engagement initiatives and regional realtor and builder associations to generate new loan production.

• Adhere to lending and compliance training and protocols.

• Report and track application status and funding expectations in conjunction with the Director of Mortgage Sales.

• Develop and implement 90-day action plans to fulfill member needs and achieve production targets.

• Uphold customer service standards, confidentiality, and discretion.

• Maintain proficiency in assigned responsibilities and pursue additional training or development as necessary.

• Ensure adherence to security, audit, regulatory, information security, privacy, Bank Secrecy Act, and Customer Identification Program policies.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• At least two (2) years of experience in mortgage-related originations.

• Understanding of or the capacity to learn federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards pertinent to the area of responsibility, including SAFE Act, TRID, and HUD guidelines.

• Familiarity with member service principles and processes.

• Knowledge of FHA Connection and the process of ordering mortgage insurance certificates for conventional, FHA, and VA mortgages.

• Ability to articulate policies, procedures, laws, and regulations to members and colleagues.

• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions and technical procedures.

• Ability to analyze and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Capability to stay updated with industry and regulatory changes and trends.

• Candidates must reside in Oregon or Washington.

• Travel is a requirement for this position.
