Mortgage Loan Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately record and maintain loan activity records, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

• Generate and analyze reports pertaining to loan transactions, aiding in daily and monthly financial assessments and closings.

• Input data into the general ledger system and conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

• Work closely with Operations to guarantee the prompt processing of borrower refunds and other relevant transactions.

• Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities to create and manage spreadsheet reports for management evaluation.

• Utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure precise preparation of financial statements.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and collaborate with management to execute necessary changes.

• Participate in special projects and assignments as directed by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of accounting experience, with a solid understanding of financial transactions and reporting.

• Previous experience in the mortgage sector is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionalities such as pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Familiarity with accounting software like Byte or AMB is preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to new software and systems.

• Strong analytical abilities and keen attention to detail.
