Mortgage Loan Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accurately record and maintain comprehensive documentation of loan activities, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

• Gather and analyze reports related to loan transactions, supporting daily and monthly financial reviews and closings.

• Input entries into the general ledger system and conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

• Work in close partnership with Operations to ensure the prompt processing of borrower refunds and other relevant transactions.

• Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills to create and sustain spreadsheet reports for management evaluation.

• Utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure accurate preparation of financial statements.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancements and collaborate with management to implement necessary changes.

• Carry out special projects and assignments as instructed by management.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in accounting, demonstrating a solid grasp of financial transactions and reporting.

• Previous experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables and complex formulas.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying financial information effectively to various stakeholders.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Byte or AMB is preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to new software and systems.

• Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
