Monitoring & Reporting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the establishment of a monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) system in collaboration with the Product & Strategic Initiatives and the L&AL teams.

• Oversee and sustain program and project monitoring systems, which include project monitoring plans, indicator tracking tables, and operational dashboards.

• Create, test, and implement standardized data collection instruments such as surveys and digital data forms that align with logical frameworks.

• Offer technical assistance and training to Chalmers’ personnel and partner organizations regarding data entry guidelines and tracking procedures.

• Conduct site verification visits and/or data audits as needed to guarantee data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.

• Prepare, edit, and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports for internal leaders and departments, donors, partners, and external stakeholders.

• Transform raw operational data into concise summaries, charts, and visual dashboards to showcase achievements, progress, and challenges.

• Collaborate with the PSI team and other departments to gather success stories.

• Ensure that reporting meets internal quality standards, donor requirements, reporting templates, and compliance deadlines.

• Manage metric databases to ensure secure data storage, backups, and user access control.

• Conduct regular data cleaning, routine validation checks, and assessments of data quality.

• Identify tracking gaps or data collection inaccuracies and implement corrective action plans.

• Work under the guidance of the VP of Products and Strategic Initiatives while coordinating with Listening & Applied Learning.

• Partner with PSI units, Listening & Applied Learning, IT, Global Strategic Partnerships, and Curriculum and Training.

• No direct supervisory responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in MEAL, project management related to social services, data analytics, public health information systems, or a related area.

• Demonstrated proficiency in monitoring, database management, and technical report writing.

• Experience in domestic social service projects and/or in International Relief and Development.

• A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Management, Social Sciences, International Development Studies, or a related discipline.

• Expertise in mobile data collection platforms, such as KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare, Survey CTO, or similar tools.

• Strong working knowledge of Excel (including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charts) and data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Experience managing log-frames, indicator tracking matrices, and donor reporting templates.

• Excellent written communication skills, analytical thinking, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data into accessible reports.
