Model Based Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist the Transportation Security Administration's Security Capabilities, Requirements, and Engineering department.

• Deliver expert engineering and analytical support for the creation of requirement artifacts.

• Create Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Operational Requirements Documents (ORD), and Functional Requirements Documents (FRD).

• Aid in the development of requirements for both existing and future transportation security technologies.

• Foster and enhance processes utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools.

• Utilize MBSE tools to facilitate requirements development.

• Address additional engineering needs for the TSA as identified.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's of Science degree is mandatory in mechanical, electrical, systems/software/computer engineering, or a related field.

• At least five years of experience in systems engineering and requirements development is required.

• Familiarity with systems engineering, MBSE, systems development methodologies, and project management is essential.

• Two years of experience with tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, Rational Rose, DOORS, their extensions, or similar tools from competing vendors.

• Understanding of the Development Life Cycle Framework for converting user requirements, mission needs, and gaps into functional and system-level requirements.

• Must be able to pass DHS suitability screening or meet DHS financial responsibility criteria.

• Must possess or be eligible for a DHS Secret security clearance.

• Experience with DHS or DoD acquisitions is preferred.

• Preferred experience includes developing operational requirements and drafting CONOPS, ORD, and FRD documents.

• Knowledge and experience in the transportation security sector is preferred.
