Mobile Vehicle Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site assessments of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Find, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.

• Assess and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles.

• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations covering powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and record damage, missing parts, and non-functional features.

• Establish trust and foster relationships with dealer clients.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage dealers to enhance inspection volume and participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to optimize inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adapt to shifts in daily appointments and schedules.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Leverage Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancements.

• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety and health protocols.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Follow Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior inspectors carry out advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, and assist with the onboarding and development of less experienced inspectors.

• Perform additional duties as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus over 3 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED with 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Must be capable of meeting the physical and mental demands of the role within required timeframes.

• A pre-employment drug test is required; currently, there is no marijuana testing.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
