Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, initiate, move, assess, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.

• Evaluate and document both exterior and interior vehicle conditions, including tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboard, and installed options.

• Conduct basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and record damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Foster trust and build strong relationships with dealer clients.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Actively engage dealers to enhance inspection volume and ensure participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to optimize inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adjust to changes in daily appointments and schedules to guarantee dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit reports on daily activities and production.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process optimization.

• Meet production expectations set by leadership.

• Adhere to safety and health protocols and engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior Level: carry out advanced inspections, mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus over 3 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving history is required.

• Capability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the required timeframes.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is essential for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship available now or in the future.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
