Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site vehicle condition assessments for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Safely locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and optional features.

• Record the condition of the vehicle's exterior and interior, including tires, frame, glass, panels, seating, dashboard, and installed options.

• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations of powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document any damage, missing parts, or inoperable features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to enhance inspection volume and ensure ongoing participation.

• Oversee fluctuating daily appointments and schedules for dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancements.

• Meet production goals while adhering to safety, health, and inspection standards.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Senior-level responsibilities include advanced inspections, mentoring peers, onboarding support, and serving as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1 positions.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level positions.

• Strong knowledge of automotive systems (both body and mechanical) is necessary for Senior Level roles.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1 roles.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2 roles.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level roles.

• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.

• Capability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the role within specified timeframes is essential.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship is required.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
