Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site assessments of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.

• Examine and record the condition of vehicle exteriors and interiors, including tires, frames, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboards, and installed options.

• Conduct basic mechanical checks across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and document any damage, missing components, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust and rapport with dealer clients through consistent quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Collaborate with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to optimize inspection efficiency and enhance territory productivity.

• Adjust to changes in daily appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Work alongside Wholesale Specialists, peers, and other Manheim teams to facilitate client success.

• Contribute to process improvements in a continuous enhancement and Lean environment.

• Adhere to production expectations while following safety, health, inspection, and compliance standards.

• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Senior Level: Execute advanced inspections, mentor peers, support onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Previous experience in vehicle inspection is mandatory for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is necessary.

• Capability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within specified timeframes.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without any current or future sponsorship.
