Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated area.

• Safely locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Verify vehicle identification, including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; ensure accurate data entry.

• Inspect and document both the exterior and interior condition of vehicles.

• Perform basic mechanical assessments on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and document any damage, missing components, or non-operational features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients and provide information about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and maintain their participation.

• Manage daily appointments and adjust schedules for dealer coverage as needed.

• Prepare and submit reports on daily activities and production.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements and the enhancement of Lean processes.

• Adhere to safety and health protocols and participate in Safety Excellence programs.

• Comply with Manheim's inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior Level: Conduct advanced vehicle inspections, mentor colleagues, and assist with onboarding.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED with 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the position within specified timeframes.

• Senior Level: Prior experience in vehicle inspections is required.

• Senior Level: Strong knowledge of automotive systems (both body and mechanical) is essential.

• Senior Level: One year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A pre-employment drug test is required; currently, there is no marijuana testing for this position.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.

• Level 1: Basic automotive knowledge and 0–1 years of automotive-related experience are preferred.

• Level 2: 1–2 years of automotive-related experience are preferred.
