Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Identify, start, move, examine, and ensure the safe return of vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.

• Precisely input inspection data into relevant systems.

• Assess and record the condition of both the exterior and interior of vehicles.

• Conduct basic mechanical evaluations across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Recognize and document any damages, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Foster trust and cultivate relationships with dealer clients.

• Inform clients about the Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure their participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and contributions from partners to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adapt to shifts in appointments and schedules to ensure effective dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, managing leads, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, peers, and various Manheim teams.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements and enhancements in Lean processes.

• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety and health protocols.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior Level: conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is mandatory for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.

• Ability to fulfill the physical and mental demands of the role within specified timeframes.

• Capability to work independently and exhibit sound judgment and problem-solving abilities.

• Must currently have authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.

• A pre-employment drug test is required; marijuana is not currently tested for this position.
