This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealership clients within a designated area.

• Provide precise, comprehensive, and prompt documentation of vehicle conditions in accordance with Manheim's inspection standards.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Verify vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options, and accurately enter data into systems.

• Assess and document the exterior and interior condition of vehicles, including tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboard, and installed options.

• Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document any damage, missing components, or inoperable features.

• Build relationships with dealer clients and educate them on Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volumes and ensure active participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to maximize inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adapt to changes in daily appointments and schedules to guarantee dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate effectively with Wholesale Specialists, peers, and other teams at Manheim.

• Operate within a continuous improvement and Lean environment, contributing to process enhancements.

• Maintain production expectations while adhering to safety, health, inspection, and compliance protocols.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Support the onboarding and development of less experienced Mobile Inspectors at the Senior Level.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Mobile Inspector – Level 1.

• Mobile Inspector – Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years’ experience in a related field.

• Mobile Inspector – Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years’ experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for the Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is required for the Senior Level.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is mandatory.

• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the required timeframes.

• Minimal automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for the Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for the Senior Level.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.
