Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site evaluations of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, initiate, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.

• Examine and record the condition of both the exterior and interior of vehicles.

• Conduct basic mechanical assessments across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and document any damages, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust and foster relationships with dealer clients.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection offerings.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure ongoing participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.

• Adapt to changes in daily appointments and schedules.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, managing leads, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and the enhancement of Lean processes.

• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety and health protocols.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Follow Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• For senior-level positions, conduct advanced inspections, mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus over 3 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a high school diploma/GED with 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• A minimum of 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

• Must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the position within required timeframes.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without the need for current or future sponsorship.
