Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within an assigned area.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.

• Accurately input inspection data into relevant systems.

• Assess and document the exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components.

• Evaluate and record the interior condition, including seating, dashboard, and installed options.

• Conduct basic mechanical checks across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Actively engage dealers to boost inspection volume and participation.

• Manage dynamic daily appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit reports on daily activities and production.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements and Lean process enhancements.

• Maintain production expectations while adhering to safety and health procedures.

• Take part in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• For senior-level positions: execute advanced inspections, mentor peers, and assist in the onboarding and development of less experienced inspectors.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is necessary for Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record is required.

• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within specified timeframes.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
