Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-site evaluations of vehicle conditions for dealer clients in a designated region.

• Safely locate, start, maneuver, inspect, and return vehicles within dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; ensure precise system entry.

• Assess and record the exterior and interior conditions of vehicles, including tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical parts, seating, dashboard, and installed features.

• Execute basic mechanical assessments across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and document any damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust and build strong relationships with dealer clients.

• Educate clients about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volumes and foster ongoing participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adapt to changes in appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Use Salesforce.com for reporting purposes, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives in a continuous improvement and Lean environment.

• Meet production expectations set by leadership.

• Adhere to safety and health protocols and participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior Level: conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, support onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

• Perform other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field; alternatives include any higher degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field; alternatives include any higher degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a related field.

• Minimal automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the required timeframes.

• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
