Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification including VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.

• Examine and document the condition of both the exterior and interior of vehicles, covering areas such as tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboard, and installed features.

• Conduct basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components.

• Identify and document any damage, missing components, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust with dealer clients by delivering consistent quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.

• Inform clients about the benefits of Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Actively engage dealers to boost inspection volume and maintain their participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner input to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory.

• Adjust to changes in daily appointments and schedules to ensure comprehensive dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily reports on activities and production.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams to foster client success.

• Contribute to process improvements within a framework of continuous enhancement and Lean practices.

• Meet production expectations while adhering to safety and health protocols.

• Engage in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Adhere to Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• For senior positions: conduct advanced inspections, mentor peers, assist with onboarding, and act as a subject matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1 positions.

• For Level 2: A High School Diploma or GED along with 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

• For Senior Level: A High School Diploma or GED plus 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a High School diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of relevant experience.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1 roles.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1 positions.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2 roles.

• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level positions.

• Strong automotive knowledge (both body and mechanical) is essential for Senior Level roles.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level positions.

• A minimum of 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the specified timeframes.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship is available now or in the future.

• Capability to conduct vehicle inspections, safely move and handle vehicles, and accurately document vehicle conditions.

• Proficiency in Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and customer performance tracking.

• Ability to adhere to Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
