Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients within a designated territory.

• Locate, initiate, maneuver, assess, and safely return vehicles located on dealer client lots.

• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems.

• Examine and document the condition of both the exterior and interior of vehicles.

• Conduct basic mechanical assessments across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.

• Identify and document any damage, missing parts, or non-functional features.

• Establish trust and build strong relationships with dealer clients.

• Provide education to clients regarding Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.

• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure continued participation.

• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity within the territory.

• Adjust to changing appointments and schedules to ensure dealer coverage.

• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports.

• Utilize Salesforce.com for reporting, managing leads, and tracking customer performance.

• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other teams at Manheim.

• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process enhancements.

• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety and health protocols.

• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives.

• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.

• Senior-level inspectors are responsible for mentoring peers, aiding in onboarding, and serving as subject matter experts.

• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for Level 1 positions.

• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant field, or any post-secondary degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED, or 5 years of experience in a related field.

• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of experience in a relevant field.

• Prior vehicle inspection experience is essential for Senior Level roles.

• Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level positions.

• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 1.

• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience is preferred for Level 2.

• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.

• At least 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended for Senior Level.

• Basic automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

• The ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within the required timeframes is necessary.

• Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
