Mobile Software Engineer, Growth & Experimentation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Develop, launch, and enhance Pebble’s iOS and Android mobile applications.

• Identify friction points in onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, conversion, and monetization.

• Transform product inquiries into enhancements, prototypes, A/B tests, and various experiments.

• Leverage product and user data to comprehend behavior and determine future development priorities.

• Establish success metrics, evaluate outcomes, and take action based on insights.

• Collaborate directly with founders as well as product and business leadership.

• Maintain a balance between robust engineering practices and the agility needed to test ideas and learn.

• Recognize product challenges and manage solutions from implementation through to release and iteration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in building, launching, and supporting a production mobile app utilized by real users.

• Significant evidence of at least one of the following: growth experimentation, A/B or split testing, conversion optimization, product ownership, or the development and management of your own software product.

• Strong engineering principles and sound judgment pertaining to reliability, maintainability, quality, and speed.

• Proficiency with Flutter/Dart, TypeScript/NestJS, MongoDB, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with App Store or Google Play subscriptions, paywalls, payments, or transitioning from trial to paid services.

• Proven track record of building and delivering production mobile applications across iOS, Android, cross-platform, or another reputable mobile environment.

• Capability to independently navigate production software from problem identification through implementation, release, and iteration.

• Strong fundamentals in APIs, data modeling, testing, debugging, release practices, and production monitoring.

• Ability to articulate what went wrong, detail your personal contributions, discuss the outcomes, and explain your next steps.

• Competence in collaborating across mobile, backend, web, data, and analytics as required.

• Capacity to formulate a perspective, test it, and adjust direction based on evidence.
