This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Responsible for maintaining and repairing light construction equipment, such as skid steers, chippers, trenchers, and mini-excavators, at Home Depot stores and local customer job sites.
• Conduct regular visits to stores to assess equipment, document unit conditions, execute preventive maintenance, and complete maintenance and repair work orders.
• Provide training to Home Depot store associates and customers on proper equipment usage and large equipment operating procedures.
• Comply with equipment safety regulations, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Keep Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) certifications current.
• Ensure accurate inventory of parts in the vehicle or shop location.
• Manage fleet inventory and facilitate equipment transfers between different locations.
• Ensure vehicle compliance with company policies, federal standards, and driver performance criteria.
• Deploy new equipment to store locations, perform Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), deliver equipment, and provide training to store associates.
• Assess equipment for rental readiness, safe operation, and adherence to store appearance standards.
• Carry out minor repairs on equipment.
• Respond to service calls and procure parts for maintenance and repair tasks.
• Utilize the company’s technology platform to log labor, parts, and all completed work.
• Assist with equipment deliveries and pickups as needed.
• Receive regional guidance when setting and aligning short- and long-term objectives.
• Report directly to the Regional Field Operations Manager.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
• Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Must fulfill DOT medical certification requirements.
• Required vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Significant physical ability is required, including lifting, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, crawling under equipment, climbing on equipment, reaching, and stretching.
• Ability to work at heights occasionally.
• Capable of performing repetitive movements with hands, wrists, and arms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, resolve disputes, and address grievances with both internal and external customers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in servicing construction equipment, encompassing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs.
• Knowledge and/or skills in light construction equipment maintenance, including small engines and hydraulics.
• Competence in reading and interpreting technical repair and parts manuals related to mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other equipment components.
• Experience and a strong desire to deliver excellent customer service.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices.
• Proficient in using handheld technology, including smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personality types and all levels of associates.
• Capability to work independently.
• Ability to operate in challenging outdoor working conditions.
• Flexibility to adapt to unexpected circumstances, such as weather changes and traffic conditions.
• Minimum educational requirement: associate's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
