Mission Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical lead for the Business Development team throughout the opportunity lifecycle.

• Interact with customers and mission users to identify operational needs, constraints, priorities, and decision criteria.

• Convert customer requirements into solution concepts, architectures, implementation strategies, and value propositions.

• Formulate technical win strategies and assist in opportunity qualification and capture decisions.

• Direct technical demonstrations, prototypes, presentations, white papers, proposals, and responses to solicitations.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and industry partners.

• Design mission software for cloud, edge, and on-premises environments.

• Create designs suitable for classified, disconnected, intermittent, and bandwidth-limited environments.

• Develop secure, resilient, scalable, and ATO-ready solutions utilizing Agile delivery, AI-assisted development, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, testing, and observability.

• Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to expedite development and enhance decision support.

• Convey technical value, architectures, risks, and tradeoffs to technical, operational, acquisition, and executive audiences.

• Ensure technical continuity during negotiations and opportunity closure.

• Establish reusable solution patterns and technical standards for the mission software portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.

• Active Secret clearance, with the capability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI eligibility.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% or more of the time.

• Over 3 years of experience utilizing AI tools and techniques for software development.

• Expertise in designing, architecting, and delivering large-scale software systems in complex or mission-critical settings.

• Strong full-stack software development experience across application, backend, and systems layers.

• Familiarity with modern Agile DevSecOps practices, automated CI/CD, cloud architecture, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Working knowledge of cybersecurity, authorization, and accreditation requirements for defense or highly regulated environments.

• Experience in engaging directly with customers or operational stakeholders.

• Ability to interpret mission and customer needs into technical solutions, architectures, prototypes, and demonstrations.

• Experience in creating and presenting technical materials, proposals, white papers, and technical responses.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Mission-focused and adaptable mindset suitable for ambiguous and fast-paced environments.

• Preferred: experience deploying software in classified, contested, disconnected, or edge environments.

• Preferred: familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approaches and Model-Based Systems Engineering.

• Preferred: experience integrating AI or machine learning into operational software systems.

• Preferred: knowledge of defense acquisition, cybersecurity, and ATO processes.

• Preferred: experience working with warfighters, mission operators, or government technical stakeholders.
