Mirpuri Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct on-demand phone interpretation sessions between Mirpuri and English speakers.

• Accurately convey the meaning of conversations in line with established interpretation guidelines.

• Assist clients in various sectors including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and emergency services.

• Communicate clearly in both languages, ensuring proper pronunciation, enunciation, and courteous expressions.

• Uphold a professional demeanor throughout all interpretation sessions.

• Maintain composure during incoherent, distressed, emotional, or emergency calls.

• Adhere to punctuality and availability during designated work hours.

• Follow client directives and protocols while refraining from unauthorized interactions with limited-English-speaking individuals.

• Comprehend terminology and procedures across various industries.

• Exhibit cultural sensitivity in a diverse working environment.

• Operate from a quiet and secure home office.

• Deliver company-standard service during prolonged calls and periods of high call volume.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Mirpuri and English, with an understanding of the associated cultural dynamics.

• Capable of providing cultural competency and recognizing regional and accent variations.

• Strong listening, retention, and note-taking abilities.

• Ability to remain neutral and objective during delicate conversations.

• Preferred education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation.

• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements is essential.

• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Must have US work authorization that does not require future visa sponsorship.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification is necessary.

• Proficiency in reading and writing the requested languages is highly preferred.

• A dedicated personal device for business use is required.

• Desktop or laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS; tablets and smartphones are also acceptable.

• Kaspersky products and Huawei hardware are not permitted.

• High-speed internet connection: minimum of 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, with ping no greater than 300 ms and jitter no more than 30 ms.

• A quiet workspace free from background noise or distractions is essential.

• Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary in front of a computer for most of the workday.

• Competency in using company-provided software and systems.

• Adequate manual dexterity for typing or writing tasks.

• Capability to lift up to 26 lbs.

• May need to undergo a post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screening.
