German Translator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +7 more countries.

📋 Description

• Conduct translations using various translation tools for designated clients and projects.

• Translate content related to marketing, assistance, user interface, or regulated sectors.

• Assist the team with copy-editing tasks for specific content types.

• Become proficient in standard CAT tools and other tools relevant to translation tasks for internal clients.

• Adhere strictly to established translation protocols and raise questions as necessary.

• Comply with style guides and overall requirements set by clients.

• Enhance skills based on feedback from senior team members and client reviewers.

• Monitor personal error statistics and work on identified weaknesses.

• Engage in training sessions organized internally and by clients.

• Take part in the error arbitration process.

• Achieve productivity, timely delivery, and quality KPIs.

• Join internal quality meetings and participate in client quality discussions.

• Assess personal gaps and seek guidance from senior colleagues.

• Accomplish objectives set by the team manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in the German language.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• 2-4 years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.

• Strong understanding of the localization process.

• Proficient user experience with standard software, including Windows and Office applications.

• Familiarity with standard CAT tools, such as XTM and SDL Studio, as well as issue tracking and query management tools like JIRA.

• Capacity to quickly learn new localization tools and applications.

• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines.

• Capability to effectively present information and answer questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and linguists.

• Skill in solving practical problems and managing various concrete variables.

• Ability to collaborate within a virtual team.

• Quick learner, motivated, and adaptable.

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or a relevant combination of education and experience (University degree in other fields plus 2 years of full-time experience in translation; OR 5 years of full-time professional experience in translating).
