Mid/Senior C Software Engineer – Yang Models

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Conduct research to determine the optimal way to implement client requirements and ideas.

• Engage in technical discussions with the client.

• Develop and unit-test YANG-based mappings for OpenConfig models based on established designs.

• Create unit tests, perform code reviews, and produce documentation.

• Collaborate with the infrastructure team to gain insights into YANG and acquire feedback on new YANG mappings.

• Utilize AI agent-based tools for the efficient development of new tooling.

• Occasionally take part in technical pre-sales meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in C programming.

• Demonstrated experience in reading, analyzing, and refactoring existing C codebases, with a focus on memory safety and the removal of legacy code.

• Practical knowledge of YANG structures (containers, lists, leaves, data types) and hierarchical data schemas (OpenConfig, IETF, or vendor-specific models).

• Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking concepts, including interfaces, VLANs, routing, BGP, and ACLs.

• Proficiency in working within Linux-based development environments, including Git and build systems.

• Intermediate skills in Python for executing, inspecting, and debugging automated regression test suites.

• Nice to have: experience with Network Operating Systems such as Cisco IOS-XR, SONiC, Arista EOS, or Junos, or CPE systems like prplOS or OpenWrt.

• Nice to have: familiarity with NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, pyang, or schema validators.

• Nice to have: experience in DSLs, schema-to-schema mapping, or data-driven code generation.

• Nice to have: experience with PyTest, PTF, Scapy, and automated CI/CD validation pipelines.
