Middle/Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Yocto

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create distinct components, modules, classes, and devices.

• Develop, troubleshoot, document, and maintain software and hardware segments.

• Conduct various types of testing.

• Engage in estimation and planning meetings.

• Contribute to both technical project documentation and user manuals.

• Support test engineers and technical staff in resolving issues related to software setup and functionality.

• Take part in conference calls and in-person discussions with customers and partners.

• Adhere to engineering methodologies, technical standards, and project quality benchmarks.

• Report on status and progress in line with project and company requirements.

• Identify shortcomings in development processes, procedures, engineering methodologies, and environmental setups, and propose enhancements.

• Elevate technical concerns to the Architect, Team Lead, and Project Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience with C programming.

• Familiarity with cloud connectivity applications, including monitoring and Firmware-Over-the-Air (FOTA) solutions.

• Solid understanding of communication technologies such as LTE, BLE, OpenThread, MQTT, and cybersecurity practices.

• Hands-on experience with Yocto Linux.

• Proficient in debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems, including software debugging on actual devices using J-Link and ST-Link, and addressing system-level challenges.

• Upper-Intermediate proficiency in English.

• Knowledge of hardware is a plus.

• Experience with Docker, GitLab, and Jira is an advantage.
