Middle School Social Studies Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated course content in a virtual setting

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Enhance course material using suitable online tools under the guidance of principals and coaches

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments

• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and parents/learning coaches

• Assist parents/learning coaches with curriculum, instructional, and basic troubleshooting issues in the virtual classroom

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student assessments, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Georgia Secondary Teaching Certificate

• Residency in Georgia is mandatory

• Bachelor's degree

• Valid active state teaching license

• Capability to pass the required background check

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office environment free from distractions during work hours, generally from 9 AM to 5 PM (or 8 AM to 4 PM) as determined by the school

• Experience working with the targeted age group

• Experience in assisting both adults and children with technology usage

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or traditional classroom setting

• Familiarity with online learning platforms

• Ability to analyze and produce numerical, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
