This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver specific course material in an online setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Concentrate on the unique needs of students and tailor learning experiences
• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to enhance learning towards set objectives
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate instruction according to student proficiency
• Enhance course material using relevant online tools under the direction of the principal and coach
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and advancement
• Inform administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families
• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations
• Michigan Teaching Certification is required
• Social Studies certificate is mandatory
• Must be a resident of Michigan
• Bachelor's degree required
• Active state teaching license needed
• Must pass the necessary background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or around 20% of the time
• Experience with the targeted age group
• Familiarity with assisting adults and children in using technology
• Background in teaching in an online and/or traditional classroom setting
• Experience with online learning platforms
• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and educational platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and be fluent in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
