This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.
• Deliver designated course content in an online setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction according to each student’s mastery level.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Track student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Enhance course content with suitable online tools under the guidance of the principal and coach.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Foster and sustain a positive relationship with families.
• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators.
• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school events.
• Valid Social Studies (4-8) or (7-12) certificate/license required.
• Must meet TEXAS residency requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree is necessary.
• Active state teaching license is required.
• Ability to pass the required background check.
• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Experience with the specified age group is required.
• Experience in assisting adults and children with technology usage.
• Background in teaching in an online (virtual) or brick-and-mortar environment.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms.
