This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Customize learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student proficiency
• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Track student progress utilizing Stride K12's learning management platform
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of any concerns related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build and sustain a positive rapport with families
• Communicate with and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting
• Enhance course materials using authorized synchronous and asynchronous tools under the guidance of the principal and coach
• Travel as necessary, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student assessments, and school obligations
• Collaborate with fellow educators to utilize student data for informed instructional decisions
• Required Michigan Teaching Certification
• Middle School Science certificate mandatory
• Must be a resident of Michigan
• Bachelor's degree required
• Active state teaching license is essential
• Ability to pass the necessary background check
• Full-time availability, generally 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours
• Ability to work within school-defined hours, typically 9-5 or 8-4
• Experience with the intended age group
• Experience in assisting both adults and children with technology
• Background in teaching in an online and/or traditional classroom environment
• Familiarity with online learning platforms
• Skill in interpreting and generating numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
