This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance to students
• Oversee the learning process while focusing on individual student needs
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to drive learning towards set objectives
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Tailor learning experiences for all students
• Differentiate instruction based on each student’s mastery
• Enhance course content with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of principals and coaches
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotions
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families
• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues
• Travel as needed, averaging once per month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school requirements
• Required certification/license: Math (4-8) or (7-12)
• Residency requirement: TEXAS
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Capability to collaboratively interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic data representations of student data and utilize it to inform instructional decisions
• Open to ongoing coaching from administrators and teacher trainers
• Willingness to adapt to changes to ensure outstanding student outcomes
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adjust to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
• Typically able to work 40+ hours per week
• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours
