This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver designated course content within an online setting
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students
• Oversee the learning process while addressing students’ individual needs
• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards set objectives
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Tailor learning experiences to meet the needs of all students
• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels
• Enhance course content with suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the supervision of the principal and coach
• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity for students
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting matters
• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and other school obligations
• Active Texas Middle School Mathematics Teaching Certification
• Residency in Texas
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Ability to pass the required background check
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours
• Generally available during school-defined hours of 9-5 or 8-4
• Experience with the specified age group (preferred)
• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology (preferred)
• Experience teaching in either an online or traditional classroom setting (preferred)
• Familiarity with online learning platforms (preferred)
• Skill in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (preferred)
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (preferred)
