Middle School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual learning environment.

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Tailor learning experiences to meet the unique needs of each student.

• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to achieve set learning goals.

• Provide dynamic and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.

• Differentiate instruction based on students’ mastery levels.

• Enhance course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from principals and coaches.

• Maintain an accurate grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for important standardized assessments.

• Build and sustain a positive rapport with families.

• Communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents and respond to their inquiries.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional challenges as well as basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting.

• Travel as necessary, averaging once per month, or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school events.


⛳️ Requirements

• North Carolina Middle School Math Teaching Certification is required.

• Must reside in North Carolina.

• Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• Active state teaching license required.

• Ability to pass the required background check.

• Capability to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during the workday, typically from 9-5 (or 8-4) as defined by the school.

• Experience working with the specified age group.

• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology.

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or traditional brick-and-mortar setting.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to inform instructional decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
