This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Deliver targeted course content in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student mastery.
• Track student progress through Stride K12's learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to further learning towards set goals.
• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities.
• Enhance course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of performance issues.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build a positive relationship with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches promptly.
• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting concerns.
• Travel as necessary, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school events.
• Michigan Teaching Certification is mandatory.
• Middle School Math certification is required.
• Residency in Michigan is a must.
• Bachelor's degree is necessary.
• An active state teaching license is required.
• Ability to pass the required background check is essential.
• Full-time availability, typically exceeding 40 hours per week, is expected.
• Must be capable of maintaining a professional home office free from distractions during work hours.
• Preferred: experience working with the specified age group.
• Preferred: experience assisting adults and children with technology usage.
• Preferred: experience in online/virtual teaching and/or in a traditional classroom setting.
• Preferred: familiarity with online learning platforms.
• Preferred: ability to analyze and produce numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Preferred: capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
