This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver designated course content in an online setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process
• Tailor learning experiences according to students' unique needs
• Track student progress using Stride K12's learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to facilitate learning towards set objectives
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities
• Differentiate instruction based on the level of student mastery
• Enhance course material utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools with guidance from principals and coaches
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators of concerns regarding student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional concerns
• Provide basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom setting
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations
• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 Math Teaching Certificate
• Residency in Florida
• Bachelor's degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass the required background check
• Ability to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours
• Availability to work according to the school's defined schedule, typically 9-5 or 8-4
• Must be willing to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time
• Experience working with the specified age group (preferred)
• Experience assisting adults and children with technology use (preferred)
• Experience teaching in either an online or traditional classroom environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with online learning platforms (preferred)
• Ability to analyze and create numerical, tabular, and graphic representations of student data (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (preferred)
• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (preferred)
