This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Deliver dynamic and engaging learning experiences for students in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
• Tailor educational approaches to meet the individual needs of all students.
• Differentiate instruction based on each student's level of mastery.
• Enhance course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools, guided by the principal and coach.
• Manage the grade book and uphold standards of student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for important standardized assessments.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate promptly with students and their learning coaches/parents.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional inquiries, as well as basic virtual classroom troubleshooting.
• Monitor student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to promote learning towards established objectives.
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related obligations.
• Required: South Carolina Department of Education Middle School (5-8) English Teaching Certification.
• Residence in South Carolina is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Must possess an active state teaching license.
• Capability to pass the necessary background check.
• Ability to work independently, typically over 40 hours per week.
• Must maintain a professional home office free from distractions during the workday, usually from 9-5 (or 8-4) as defined by the school.
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time.
• Experience working with the designated age group is essential.
• Familiarity with supporting both adults and children in technology usage.
• Teaching experience in either an online (virtual) or traditional brick-and-mortar setting is required.
• Proficiency with online learning platforms is necessary.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.
• Use of student data to inform instructional decisions is expected.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick adaptability to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
