This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Deliver targeted course content in an online setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance
• Manage the learning journey with a focus on the unique needs of students
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
• Collaborate closely with students and their parents/learning coaches to enhance learning toward set objectives
• Create rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Tailor learning approaches for every student
• Differentiate instructional methods based on student mastery
• Supplement course materials using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the direction of the principal and coach
• Maintain the gradebook and uphold academic integrity for students
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion
• Notify administrators about issues related to student performance and progress
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized testing
• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families
• Communicate and respond promptly to students and learning coaches/parents
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting
• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school-related activities
• Florida 5 Year Professional 5-9 OR 6-12 English Certificate
• Reading Endorsement
• ESOL Endorsement
• Residency in Florida is required
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state teaching license
• Capability to pass required background checks
• Ability to work independently, usually 40+ hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during working hours
• Flexibility to work typically from 9-5 or 8-4 as designated by the school
• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or about 20% of the time
• Experience with the designated age group
• Familiarity with assisting adults and children in using technology
• Background in teaching in either online or traditional settings
• Knowledge of online learning platforms
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Quick adaptability to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
