Middle School ELA Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Foster a culture of success by enhancing the instructional program through both asynchronous and synchronous teaching in large groups, small groups, and one-on-one settings;

• Ensure timely completion of grading, lesson planning, and communication with students and parents;

• Regularly collaborate with fellow teachers (e.g., PLCs) to create and update Personal Learning Plans, evaluate assessments, provide feedback on student work, and refine instructional methods and strategies;

• Acquire a broad understanding of the K-12 curriculum, with an in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which you are accountable;

• Analyze curriculum and create alternative methods for presenting lesson material to enhance student comprehension (working directly with students and parents);

• Assist students and parents by offering alternative strategies and support with daily assignments and projects;

• Maintain ongoing communication with parents and students through the Learning Management System and phone calls;

• Keep student records and data current, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance records, and communications with students and parents;

• Collaborate with other educators, school personnel, and the leadership team to create enrichment activities and adapt students’ programs to boost understanding and engagement;

• Partner with the Engagement and Counseling Departments to ensure timely and appropriate communication with students and families, monitor student progress, and ensure established goals are met;

• Support Individualized Education Plans for students in courses for which you are responsible;

• Participate in ongoing professional development;

• Create and implement digital methods to foster a sense of “school community” in the courses for which you are responsible;

• Collaborate with fellow educators and school staff to organize social events and relevant field trips for students;

• Oversee field trips and strive to incorporate these experiences into the curriculum;

• Attend field trips and community activities organized for students and families;

• Take part in the organization and administration of State Assessments and other school events as required;

• Engage in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives that necessitate teacher representation;

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania

• Endorsements in English Language or multiple subject areas are advantageous

• Pennsylvania residency is required

• Experience in a cyber learning environment is preferred

• Strong proficiency in technology, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Highly organized and punctual

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrated track record as a team player

• Willingness to travel for state testing, school events, and marketing efforts (may involve overnight travel)
