Middle School Advisory Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Engage regularly with learning coaches and students to facilitate the successful completion of instructional programs.

• Enhance the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing and synchronous teaching.

• Conduct grading and host parent conferences promptly.

• Collaborate with parents, students, and teachers to create and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.

• Provide constructive feedback on student work and recommend instructional methods and strategies.

• Oversee assignment completion and guide special projects.

• Acquire a broad understanding of the K-12 curriculum alongside in-depth knowledge of assigned grade levels.

• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and additional support for assignments and projects.

• Keep current student records and data, including online student and family information, attendance, and contact logs.

• Work with team members and staff learning specialists on enrichment activities and program modifications.

• Build and sustain a virtual school community.

• Supervise benchmark and diagnostic testing.

• Take part in State Testing as needed.

• Attend field trips and community events for families.

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach grades 6-8 in Kansas.

• Candidates holding a current teaching license from another state will be considered if they can transfer or secure a Kansas teaching license upon hire.

• Possess strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.

• Must be highly organized and punctual.

• A student- and family-centered approach is required.

• High flexibility is necessary.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• A history of being a team player is essential.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff, and diverse community members.

• Must be able to work remotely while occasionally traveling for in-person meetings and testing.
