This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop and sustain enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) and customized technology solutions for agri-food businesses.
• Create and uphold production-quality software utilizing Python and TypeScript.
• Build applications with Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode, or comparable reactive frameworks, in conjunction with asynchronous Python services.
• Work with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and SQL.
• Analyze technical issues, troubleshoot bugs, and contribute to scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Assume responsibility for individual phases in multi-stage asynchronous processing pipelines, including uploading, validating, processing, and storing data.
• Integrate LLM or ML model APIs into production functionalities.
• Own assigned tasks from development to deployment.
• Communicate updates, dependencies, and challenges proactively.
• Participate in planning and delivery utilizing Agile/Scrum or similar methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering, Product, QA, and design teams.
• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Share expertise, assist colleagues, and support the onboarding of new team members when appropriate.
• Contribute to both frontend and backend development across APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
• Maintain comprehensive code, system, and process documentation.
• Develop dependable automated tests.
• Address security vulnerabilities, performance issues, and reliability concerns.
• Build and maintain services within AWS.
• Incorporate AI-related cost, latency, and reliability considerations into implementation choices.
• Contribute to infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and SQL-first database migrations as necessary.
• Support event-driven processing, containerized Lambda functions, presigned URL uploads, and asynchronous validation as applicable.
• Enhance technical skills through feedback, hands-on delivery, and knowledge exchange.
• Develop an understanding of YAGRO’s sectors, customer challenges, and product usage.
• Investigate vector search, embeddings, RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and AI orchestration strategies.
• Assist in evaluating model output quality through structured examples and lightweight evaluation sets.
• Analyze custom agent and pipeline tools, data-processing libraries, and columnar or Parquet-based storage.
• Align efforts with YAGRO’s business goals and customer requirements.
• Cultivate working relationships across the organization and communicate technical information effectively.
• Support colleagues with customer feedback or issues directed to engineering.
• Identify areas where AI can enhance products or workflows and evaluate feasibility, advantages, and trade-offs in collaboration with Product, Business Development, and engineering teams.
• Two to five years of professional experience in software development.
• Relevant degree or a proven history of delivering production-quality software.
• Proficient in Python and TypeScript.
• Practical experience in integrating AI into production applications.
• Background in building production-quality software with sound engineering principles, design patterns, and modular code structures.
• Experience with Vue 3 and Nuxt in SPA mode, or similar reactive frameworks.
• Familiarity with asynchronous Python services utilizing FastAPI or comparable technologies.
• Proficient with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and SQL.
• Ability to comprehend multi-stage asynchronous processing pipelines.
• Experience integrating LLM or ML model APIs into production functionalities.
• Knowledge of safeguards against prompt injection and invalid outputs.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or equivalent methodologies.
• Familiarity with GitHub, GitLab, and Jira.
• Experience using automated testing frameworks such as PyTest, Jest, or Playwright.
• Understanding of security risks, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
• Experience in building and maintaining AWS services, utilizing Lambda, RDS, S3, or Lightsail as required.
• Understanding of AI-related cost, latency, and reliability considerations.
• Relevant experience with Terraform, GitHub Actions, dbmate, event-driven processing, containerized Lambda functions, presigned URL uploads, and asynchronous validation, where applicable.
• Relevant experience with vector search, embeddings, RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or LangChain is a plus for this role.
• Knowledge of data-processing libraries such as Polars or pandas, and columnar or Parquet-based storage where applicable.
• Capability to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
