Mid-level SDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain automated UI and API tests utilizing Playwright and TypeScript across trading, custody, and customer-portal interfaces.

• Engage daily with advanced AI tools for test planning, code generation, failure analysis, and PR assessment, ensuring outputs are verified prior to release.

• Manage nightly regression and smoke test runs, differentiating between product bugs, environmental issues, and test defects, while submitting actionable bug reports.

• Associate failing tests with known bugs, release them upon resolution, and mitigate silent skips or warning-based failures that may obscure defects.

• Execute and uphold test suites within GitHub Actions CI, contributing to the maintenance of fast, reliable, and trustworthy pipelines.

• Ensure traceability of test cases in test-case-management tools.

• Address minor application bugs and enhancements within the product monorepo following the standard PR and review process.

• Evaluate colleagues' test PRs and provide feedback based on evidence.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product owners within a globally distributed team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in software testing, QA automation, or software development — typically 3 to 6 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, or demonstrable ability to quickly learn new programming languages.

• Strong comprehension of web applications and HTTP APIs: including requests and responses, status codes, JSON, and authentication processes.

• Authentic interest in AI-assisted engineering and comfort in using AI tools while critically evaluating their outputs.

• Exceptional proficiency in written English.

• Keen attention to detail and commitment to honest reporting.

• Ideal candidates often possess several of the following: hands-on experience with Playwright (or Cypress/Selenium); experience in developing or maintaining a shared test framework; familiarity with financial services, trading, or capital markets; knowledge of WebSockets/real-time data; SQL/PostgreSQL; CI pipelines like GitHub Actions; and an understanding of digital assets or blockchain.

• Preferred: experience in performance or load testing with k6, JMeter, or similar tools.
